9 inductees to this year’s Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame

HARTFORD, Connecticut – Eight men and one woman will be inducted into the Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame next month, state officials said on Wednesday.

All nine veterans will be honored for their contributions to their communities after leaving military service.

  • Paul Barry, United States Marine Corps, Hartford East
  • John Bevins, US Navy, Waterbury
  • Stanley Borusiewicz, United States Marine Corps, Naugatuck
  • Carlita Cotton, US Air Force, Mansfield
  • William Currlin, The American army, Middlefield
  • Brian Ohler, The American army, North Canaan
  • James Shelmerdine, The American army, Hartford East
  • Brendan Sniffin, US Air Force, Danbury

The Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame officially recognized veterans who have improved their communities after returning from service.

Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz and Commissioner Thomas J. Saadi will be joined by leaders of the state’s veterans community during the induction ceremony on Friday, December 3 at 5:00 p.m. at the CT National Guard Armory Drill Shed. Each inductee will receive a commemorative medallion and a certificate recognizing their induction.

“These men and women have enriched their communities through their selfless commitment and the application of their knowledge and talents to improve the lives of others,” Saadi said. “These honored people who embody the true meaning of service to our nation and our communities.”
