Audience Engagement Producer | WWLP

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The Distribution Producer is responsible for developing and implementing a plan to communicate our brand identity and drive inbound traffic from external sources.

The Producer is the primary advocate for the growth and direction of off-platform participation within the digital editorial group. This person must be highly motivated with an ability to focus and refocus on an ever-changing target. The person must understand the nuances of tone for different audiences and brand identities – sounding fun if possible and respectful if necessary.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements a social media strategy for all products
  • Manages all social media accounts with an understanding of each unique audience
  • Uses third-party tools to manage social posts across multiple accounts
  • Executes the growth of the local newsletter strategy while adapting the tone to local needs
  • Observes SEO trends and provides feedback to the entire digital team
  • Sends application alerts and timed newsletters for maximum reach
  • Regularly communicates with local newsrooms to take advantage of unique offers
  • Shares high-performing successes across multiple markets and introduces external partners and sites for possible story promotion
  • Reports on account and campaign metrics to inform future production strategies

Skills/experience requirements

  • Experience as a social media producer
  • Clever headline/social post writer that gets readers to click
  • Ability to moderate tone and voice to meet platform and brand needs
  • Strong multitasking abilities
  • Organized, technical problem solver and quick decision maker
  • Knowledge of audience behavioral trends and technical ability to influence them
  • Ability to monitor and analyze metrics to change strategy as needed
  • Knowledge of AP style an asset
  • Understanding of effective writing styles for internal and external audiences
  • A certain flexibility of schedule (night, weekend)
  • Mastery of Photoshop and Premiere
  • Meets measures of success

Typical day

This person will be expected to stay on top of external conversations on social media and manage our own posts across all accounts throughout the day while scheduling content that can be kept during off-peak hours. Regular analysis and reporting on metrics will result in constant policy updates that need to be communicated, likely focusing on updated messages to different groups each week. This person will also play a central role in executing our ever-evolving newsletter strategy.
