BEREA, Ky. (WTVQ) – Demolition is underway on a building on the Berea College campus. It’s on the telescope dome of the Science Hall building.

According to a college social media post, Dr. Ronald B. Rosen shared photos of the initial phase of the demolition. Dr Rosen explained that “the telescope dome is transported to Pennsylvania where it will be refurbished by the new owner and ultimately transported to New Mexico where it will cover a different telescope that the owner can access remotely. The telescope itself (not visible in these images) and its mounts (which are visible) are headed for a new owner in British Columbia.

According to Berea College, the school has a new telescope and dome that will be located at Windswept and accessible remotely.
