PUNE, September 15: Physiotherapist Dr Ali Irani, Educator and Social Crusader Pt Shankarprasad Agnihotri, Early Childhood Media Strategist and Content Creator Shobha Kapoor, Architect Imran Sheikh, Wing Commander (Retired) Ashok Kumar Saraf and Sculptor Tsering Gurmet are the six eminent persons whose names have been announced for the National Kargil Gaurav Award 2022 for their outstanding contribution to various fields.
Additionally, 100 local people will also be honored for their support to the Indian Army during the Kargil War. The award ceremony and congratulations will take place on Sunday, September 19. This was announced by Dr. Shailesh Pagariya of Sarhad and Mohammad Ali (Chairman, AKTTA), Syed Mehraj ud Din Shah (Olympic Association of Kargil District, Ladakh) and Vaibhav Wagh of Sarhad, in a document released today.
Feroz Ahmed Khan, Advisor to Governor (Ladakh) Umang Narula, will present the award to the recipients. The prize consists of a souvenir and a citation. The award is instituted by the NGO Sarhad.
Apart from this, 100 people from the region including police officers, jawans, aides and others who aided the Indian army during the Kargil war and who continue to provide support to the officers and soldiers of Indian Army, will also be commended with a Certificate of Appreciation and the ‘EkIndia’, the world’s first engagement ring.
The ring is steeped in the glorious soils collected from various parts of India. It has ‘Bharat’ engraved in rich gold to restore the confidence needed to preserve India’s ancient identity as ‘Sone ki Chidiya’. It is made of pure silver symbolizing the purity of vision and is adorned with a real diamond that says, “You are the Diamond”.
Giving a brief introduction of the 2022 National Kargil Gaurav Prize Laureates, Dr. Pagariya and others said that Pt Agnihotri has made impactful contributions in various fields including education, agriculture, literature, culture and science. spirituality, while Shobha Kapoor, thanks to her vast experience of more than 15 years, is driving the educational paradigm shift and placing children at the center of development.
Physiotherapist Dr Ali Irani has brought a healing touch by reducing the risk of injury and increasing the chances of recovery for his countless patients, while Imran Shaikh, an accomplished architect, is laying a solid foundation for the country with his concepts of design, his architectural skills and his creative vision.
