Richards Bay FC 2-2 Uthongathi FC

Richards Bay FC failed to extend their lead at the top of the GladAfrica Championship table with a 2-2 draw against Uthongathi FC on Friday.

The Natal Rich Boyz were first on the board through Sakhile Hlongwa but Thato Mohlamme restored parity before Nkosikhona Dube’s penalty after half-time put the visitors ahead.

However, the Cane Cutters couldn’t hold on and allowed Hlongwa to seal a brace and secure a point for the Natal Rich Boyz.

Polokwane City Rovers 2-2 Free State Stars

The Free State Stars managed to come from behind against Polokwane City Rovers in a top-half battle at Olen Park Stadium to secure a 2-2 draw.

It’s a positive result for Rovers as they jumped one place from eighth to seventh ahead of Ea Lla Koto, whose winless streak stretched to three matches.

Jomo Cosmos 1-1 TS Sporting

Jomo Cosmos were relegated from the Championship and the ABC Motsepe League following a 1-1 draw with fellow countrymen TS Sporting on Saturday.

The demotion ends Ezenkosi’s 39-year spell in top-flight football, with penultimate Abantu Bemtheto not yet fully off the hook.

Former Chippa United defender Frederic Nsabiyumva gave Ezenkosi a positive start but Sporting responded through former Maritzburg United striker Mohau Mokate.

University of Pretoria 1-0 Venda Football Academy

University of Pretoria tied the game with leaders Richards Bay due to a 1-0 win over Venda Football Academy.

It’s a blow for Venda as the loss is their playoff chase with super-sub Kamogelo Pheeane coming off the bench once again to guide AmaTuks to the line.

Polokwane City 0-2 Pretoria Callies

Pretoria Callies have allayed their relegation fears after managing to register a 2-0 win over Polokwane City at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

The victory helped Callies stabilize their place in the middle of the league table, while Rise and Shine slipped away from the top three spots and ultimately a promotional playoff berth.

Hungry Lions FC 2-0 JDR Stars

Hungry Lions FC ended a five-game losing streak with a comprehensive 2-0 win over JDR Stars on Sunday at Kimberley.

All Di Tau needed to claim victory were two first-half goals from Angelo Van Rooi and Delano Abrahams, leaving the quest for the Hammer Boyz promotional playoff in tatters.

Black Leopards 2-1 Cape Town Spurs

The Black Leopards picked up six rebound wins with a 2-1 victory over Cape Town Spurs at Thohoyandou Stadium.

Tiklas Thutlwa’s penalty put Lidoda Duvha ahead at the break but Spurs equalized Eyona Ndondo before Khomotso Masia broke their hearts with a last-minute winner.
