Publicis Worldwide launches an awareness campaign for traumatized children

Publicis Worldwide has launched an awareness campaign for Australian non-profit Act for Kids, an organization providing therapy and support to children and families who have experienced trauma or are at risk of harm.

The “Right to Imagine” campaign aims to educate Australians about the significant impacts that abuse and trauma can have on children’s cognitive development, and highlights the increased demand for Act for Kids’ services throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

With strategy and creativity led by Publicis Worldwide and media by Zenith, the campaign sends the message that when a child suffers trauma, the naivety of their imagination is suppressed.

The business includes pro bono media across television, radio, billboard, digital, print and social media.

Act for Kids chief executive Dr Katrina Lines said children who have been abused or exposed to trauma can experience a range of cognitive developmental issues, which means they cannot always create situations in their mind.

“It can sometimes impact their ability to do simple things, like play with toys, dance or sing,” Lines said.

“We focus on creating safe environments for children to imagine and play, while receiving trauma-informed support that allows them to heal and live happy lives.”

Publicis Worldwide Chief Executive Simone Waugh added, “For 25 years, Publicis Worldwide has been proud to partner with Act for Kids to raise the voices and advocate for the rights of thousands of children who experience trauma in Australia. every year.

“This campaign will highlight the life-changing therapy that Act for Kids offers to heal children and change their lives.”

The “Right to Imagine” campaign is launched in February 2022.
