MERIDIAN, Miss (WTOK) –

WTOK-TV is looking for someone with a technical mind to become a Technical Media Producer (TMP). We will practice conducting live or pre-recorded productions as needed, monitoring WTOK’s on-air signals, transmitter and FCC newspapers, and ingesting daily programming and commercials. Regular assignments will include office video editing, production of specific TV news, miscellaneous. station productions, and various elements for digital platforms.

Responsibilities:

Conduct live and prerecorded productions as assigned and monitor all on-air streams for WMC

Require skills with Ross Overdrive Automation, Production Video Switcher, Main Control Video Switcher, Chyron or VizRT Graphics System, Adobe Photoshop and all production / main control support equipment; including the ability to effectively perform the following tasks: robotic camera operation, prompter operation, audio operation, commercial / promotional ingestion, satellite / ENG / cellular operation linked, program ingestion / segmentation, desktop editing and working knowledge of web production

Understanding of FCC program logs and transmitters, as well as all FCC broadcast regulations

Work with the newsroom computer system called ENPS

Understanding of all equipment in the studio and production areas

Dedication to equipment maintenance

Work closely with all other departments to meet all daily requests

Training of new assigned staff

Assist the operations supervisor in keeping studios and production areas clean

· Variable work schedule due to changes in work shifts, turnover, station projects, etc.

Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to prioritize complex tasks

Ability to communicate effectively – written and spoken

Strong organizational skills

Understanding of FCC broadcast regulations

· Experience assisting in television news production / main control / production.

Working knowledge of production / main control automation and broadcast automation software preferred

Physical requirements:

Ability to work shifts of at least 8 hours, and sometimes longer, 5 days a week, sitting or standing for long periods of time

· Ability to carry moderately heavy equipment, up to 50 lbs.

Ability to use a computer for tasks such as email communication, preparing reports, performing automation and editing videos

Potential exposure to high noise and unusual light levels
