Zaxby’s in Roanoke will reopen under new management

ROANOKE, Va. – Zaxby’s, beloved and widely known for its chicken, chicken wings and Zax sauce, returns to Star City.

On Tuesday, Zaxby’s announced they were reopening under new owners at 3206 Ordway Drive in Roanoke.

The restaurant will be open for catering and drive-thru from August 29.

The 2,400-square-foot restaurant will be located near the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport and will feature an all-new interior design, in addition to a renovated backhouse with new kitchen amenities, according to the release.

“We can’t wait to bring Zaxby back to the Roanoke community,” said Kevin Schweiker, one of Zaxby’s three new owners.

Zaxby’s said there will be indoor seating for up to 54 guests, online ordering will be available and third-party delivery will be offered via Doordash, GrubHub and UperEats starting in September.

To celebrate their opening, Zaxby’s said customers who download the app and join the Zax Fanz Club will be eligible to get a free signature sandwich.

The new location will also bring new job opportunities to the area – Schweiker said the location will provide over 50 new job opportunities.
